London, UK and Cambridge, MA, May 21, 2014 – Life science consulting firm Alacrita announced today that it has opened a new office in Cambridge, UK to better serve its growing roster of clients in the east of England. Alacrita has operated out of its London office for several years and is maintaining a presence in London.

Together, London and Cambridge are home to at least 60% of the UK’s life science industry base, four of the UK’s five Academic Health Science Centres and three of the world’s top universities. Along with its office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Alacrita now has a physical presence in three of the world’s most important life science hubs.

The new office is on the Cambridge Science Park on Milton Road.

Mark Wickham, the Alacrita Partner who leads the firm’s medtech practice, said: “A Cambridge office is a great asset and gives us direct proximity to the exciting and vibrant community of biotech and medtech companies. Alacrita is committed to serving its clients in the most effective way and there is no substitute for being in the same vicinity.”

Rob Johnson, an Alacrita Partner based in Cambridge, Massachusetts said: “There are many similarities between Cambridge UK and USA and this new office, together with our established London presence, will allow us to further develop one of Alacrita’s core strengths which is helping emerging healthcare companies commercialise their products and access markets both sides of the Atlantic.”
