Cort Hepler

Vice President, Marketing & Innovation

Cort leads Alacrita's marketing strategy and manages the firm's core technology infrastructure, while taking a direct role in client-facing analytical projects. With over 20 years of marketing and business experience, including more than a decade in life sciences, his work spans marketing, technology, and data-driven consulting, building financial models, scenario analyses, and market intelligence tools that help clients test assumptions and support decisions.

    Background

Cort has been with Alacrita since 2018, leading the firm's marketing and technology functions while taking a direct role in client-facing analytical projects. He oversees Alacrita's positioning to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, manages its major software systems, and builds financial models, scenario analyses, and market intelligence tools for consulting engagements. In an environment where marketing, technology, and analytical capability have become inseparable, his role encompasses digital strategy, CRM systems, business intelligence, client-facing modeling, and the firm's approach to emerging technologies including AI.

He also helps lead Alacrita's investor communications practice, developing websites, pitch decks, and positioning for early-stage biotech clients. This work draws on his background building investor-facing materials and his years inside the firm understanding how development-stage opportunities are evaluated.

Before joining Alacrita, Cort worked for Neptune Pharma, where he led commercial operations across South America. He oversaw the registration and launch of the company's key medicine in Chile, achieving a 45% market share within year one. During his time there, he was involved in multiple acquisitions and deal processes, experience that shaped his understanding of how life science companies and assets are evaluated by investors and partners.

Earlier in his career, Cort founded a trilingual marketing agency in Santiago, Chile, where he worked predominantly with government agencies and institutional clients. The agency ran data-intensive digital campaigns across Google and Facebook, developing his instinct for performance metrics and iterative optimization alongside his expertise in positioning and messaging for specialized audiences. He also served as General Manager of The Santiago Times, Chile's only English-language newspaper.

Cort holds a degree in Financial Economics from the University of Maine, is currently pursuing an MBA, and earned a Prompt Engineering Specialization from Vanderbilt University.
