Cort Hepler

Vice President, Marketing & Innovation

Cort leads Alacrita's marketing strategy and manages the firm's core technology infrastructure, driving adoption of AI and data-driven approaches across operations. With over 20 years of marketing and business experience, including more than a decade in life sciences, his work sits at the intersection of marketing and technology, ensuring Alacrita leverages the right tools and processes to serve clients and compete effectively in an increasingly digital landscape.

    Background

Cort has been with Alacrita since 2018, leading the firm's marketing and technology functions. He oversees how Alacrita positions its services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry while managing and administering its major software systems. In an environment where marketing and technology have become inseparable, his role encompasses digital strategy, CRM systems, business intelligence, and the firm's approach to emerging technologies including AI.

He also leads Alacrita's investor communications practice, developing websites, pitch decks, and positioning for early-stage biotech clients. This work draws on his background building investor-facing materials and his years inside the firm understanding how development-stage opportunities are evaluated.

Before joining Alacrita, Cort worked at Neptune Pharma, where he led marketing, sales, and distribution across South America. He oversaw the registration and launch of the company's key medicine in Chile, achieving a 45% market share within the first year. During his time there, he was involved in multiple acquisitions and deal processes; experiences that shaped his understanding of how life science companies are evaluated by investors and partners.

Earlier in his career, Cort founded a trilingual marketing agency in Santiago, Chile, serving government agencies, trade organizations, and the banking sector. For Chile's national tourism board, he grew their Facebook following organically from 2,000 to over 250,000 and launched their Instagram, now at over 500,000 followers. He led the digital campaign that resulted in Torres del Paine National Park being named the 8th Wonder of the World by TripAdvisor, receiving over 5 million votes worldwide. Cort also served as General Manager of The Santiago Times, Chile's only English-language newspaper, overseeing operations, corporate partnerships, and advertising.

Cort began his career in advertising in 2005. He holds a degree in Financial Economics from the University of Maine and is currently pursuing an MBA. He holds a Prompt Engineering Specialization from Vanderbilt University.
