A research-based biotech needed a clear understanding of the processes, resources and timelines to establish a global pharma supply chain for their leading pipeline compound, a therapy for an ultra-rare immunological disease.
Solution
Our team of senior pharma supply chain consultants, with experience in building global pharma supply chains and commercial operations, worked in close collaboration with the client to create a customized masterplan for supply chain logistics and distribution of their lead compound. This encompassed the entire value creation chain including drug substance, drug product, transportation, packaging and labelling, serialization requirements and distribution to the hospitals in Europe and the US. We also evaluated various vendor options in each geographical region for packaging & and supported the client in on-site inspection and vendor selection. We were then asked by the client to provide consulting services for the roles of global and US supply chain lead.
