European Innovation Council

EIC Ecosystem Partner

Alacrita's consulting services are listed in the European Innovation Council's Service Catalogue, available directly to EIC beneficiaries and Seal of Excellence holders.

Alacrita is an EIC Ecosystem Partner with services listed in the European Innovation Council's Service Catalogue, the curated platform through which EIC Pathfinder, Transition and Accelerator beneficiaries, as well as Horizon Europe Seal of Excellence holders, access specialized external support.

Our focus within the EIC ecosystem is specific: biotech, pharmaceutical and other life sciences ventures. If you are building an EIC-backed life sciences company or translating life sciences research through an EIC-funded program, this means you can find and engage Alacrita through the EIC Community, the interface many EIC awardees use as their primary route to trusted advisors. It also means our services can be combined with your EIC Business Acceleration supports and, where available, co-funding schemes such as EIC ACCESS+.

About the EIC and Its Service Catalogue

The European Innovation Council is the EU's flagship program for identifying, developing and scaling breakthrough deep tech, funded under Horizon Europe.

The EIC supports innovators through three main funding programs. EIC Pathfinder provides grants to multidisciplinary research teams pursuing visionary early-stage research with the potential for technology breakthroughs. EIC Transition funds the maturation of validated research results into innovation opportunities, following on from Pathfinder, ERC Proof of Concept and other Horizon Europe projects. EIC Accelerator supports startups and SMEs developing and scaling breakthrough innovations, through grants and equity investments via the EIC Fund. Companies whose proposals pass the EIC's evaluation thresholds but cannot be funded within available budgets can receive the Horizon Europe Seal of Excellence, a quality label recognized across European funding bodies.

Beyond funding, EIC beneficiaries receive Business Acceleration Services (BAS): coaching, mentoring, training, matchmaking and investor outreach delivered by the EIC itself. To address specialized, sector-specific needs that sit outside the standard BAS offering, the EIC established the Ecosystem Partnership Programme, through which it selects external organizations, known as EIC Ecosystem Partners, to provide their services, resources and expertise to EIC innovators.

The services of these partners are gathered in the EIC Service Catalogue, hosted in the members-only area of the EIC Community Platform. The catalogue is searchable and filterable by beneficiary type (Pathfinder, Transition, Accelerator, Seal of Excellence), service category, partner country and technology readiness level. Each listing includes the service description, financial requirements and a Service ID, which beneficiaries use when applying for co-funding. Alacrita is registered as an EIC Ecosystem Partner, and our services are listed in this catalogue.

What This Means for EIC Beneficiaries

Engaging a vetted Ecosystem Partner through the catalogue keeps your external advisory support inside the EIC framework you already operate in.

A vetted route to advisory support

The Service Catalogue is a marketplace of ecosystem organizations vetted to serve EIC awardees and Seal of Excellence holders. Selecting Alacrita through the catalogue means you are engaging a provider already assessed within the EIC framework.

Alignment with EIC Business Acceleration Services

Our fundraising, business development and strategic advisory support can be aligned with the Business Acceleration Services you already receive, so external consulting complements your existing EIC support rather than running in parallel to it.

Potential co-funding of fees

While Financial Support to Third Parties schemes such as EIC ACCESS+ remain active, eligible beneficiaries can seek co-funding that may cover part of our fees under the EIC's rules and eligibility criteria.

Life sciences depth on both sides of the Atlantic

Alacrita operates from London and Cambridge, MA, with a core team of former biotech and pharma operators and a curated network of specialist consultants. For European life sciences companies preparing for financing, partnering or US market entry, that combination sits directly behind every engagement.

Co-Funding Through EIC ACCESS+

The EIC provides Financial Support to Third Parties so beneficiaries can co-fund services selected from the Service Catalogue.

The current implementation of this support is EIC ACCESS+. Under its open call, eligible EIC Awardees (Pathfinder, Transition and Accelerator beneficiaries) and Seal of Excellence holders can apply for co-funding covering up to 50% of the cost of one or more catalogue services, up to a cumulative EUR 60,000 per beneficiary. Applications are submitted through the ACCESS+ Community Hub, reference the Service ID of the chosen catalogue listing, and are assessed on a first-come, first-served basis in regular review cohorts.

Two practical points matter when planning. First, the call operates with fixed application and service delivery deadlines, so engagements need to be scoped and contracted with enough runway to complete delivery within the window. Second, the requested service must be linked to your technological, business or research activities; co-funding cannot be used for administrative or project management costs.

Co-funding availability and eligibility are determined by the EIC and change as calls open and close. The EIC has announced a successor financial support action, building on ACCESS+, to continue co-funded access to Ecosystem Partner services through a continuously open call. Check the current status of ACCESS+ and its successor before scoping an engagement; we are happy to discuss timing with you.
